Load-Bearing Bloom
Statement
A face carved into apple flesh holds its eyes shut at the top of everything, presiding over a tower that has no right to stand. Cauliflower clouds, a dark avocado pit like a bruised amber eye, watermelon coral against sage-green skin, all balanced on a single fulcrum of raw wood above a stump that looks like it remembers being alive. This is not a still life. It is a self-portrait of every person holding too many things at once, eyes closed, pretending the whole structure is not tilting.
