A new era of art needs a new kind of house.
Conventional Art is a house for work made with AI. We direct it, argue with it, and throw away nearly everything it gives us. What survives gets printed on heavy cotton paper and sent out properly. The studio began with one artist. It is being built for many.

Why the name
Every medium was once the wrong way to do it.
People are still arguing about art made with a machine. That argument is not new. It has run before, more or less word for word, and it always ends the same way.

No mystery. Here is the thing itself.

- 310gsm cotton rag. Matte, slightly toothy, no shine.
- Ink
- Pigment, not dye. Rated to hold its colour for a lifetime indoors.
- Sizes
- From 8 by 16 inches up to 40 by 60, five feet on the long edge.
- Edition
- Limited editions are capped at 75 per size. Open editions are uncapped and print on demand.
- Packing
- Small prints ship flat and boarded. Large ones ship rolled in a tube.
- Framing
- Choose framed or unframed at checkout: gallery canvas, framed canvas, framed fine art print, or an unframed rolled print. Only the fine art poster always ships unframed.
The part nobody sees
We throw away most of what we make.
We rendered 108706 possibilities. We released 238. Everything else failed the wall test: the point where a picture stops working once it is large, printed, and living in a room you walk past every day.

Start
A collection begins with a mood and a room it has to live in.

I push it through hundreds of versions. Most of them are dull.

Cut
We throw nearly all of them away. This is the part that takes years to learn.

The survivors get printed small, pinned to a wall, and looked at for a week.

What still works after that week goes into the shop.

Conventional Art was founded by Endy Kahlo. Before this: brand identities, books, packaging, print production, art direction.
The house now opens to other artists working the same way. The instrument widened what one person can make. It never handed over the judgement.
