Privacy policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Conventional Art, operated by Conventional Art LLC (“Conventional Art,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you visit conventionalart.com, buy artwork, subscribe to studio communications, or contact us.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with the studio, we may collect:
- Contact and order information: name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, order details, returns, and customer-support communications;
- Payment information: payment details processed by Shopify and the payment provider selected at checkout. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number;
- Account and preference information: account credentials, saved preferences, and marketing consent where you choose to provide them;
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, referring pages, pages viewed, and interactions with the Site;
- Information you submit: messages, commission references, reviews, survey responses, or other material you choose to send us.
We collect information directly from you, automatically through the Site, and from service providers involved in transactions, analytics, fraud prevention, fulfillment, and delivery.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- process payment, produce, fulfill, deliver, return, and support orders;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and studio services;
- communicate about purchases, requests, policies, and service updates;
- send studio news or offers when you have chosen to receive them;
- detect fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity;
- meet accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations.
How we disclose information
We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate the studio, complete your transaction, protect the business and its customers, or comply with law. Recipients may include Shopify, payment processors, print and fulfillment partners, carriers, email and customer-communication providers, analytics and security providers, professional advisers, and public authorities where legally required.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define certain analytics or advertising disclosures as “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising. Where those laws apply, you may use the privacy choices presented on the Site or contact us to exercise an available opt-out right.
Cookies and analytics
The Site and its providers use cookies and similar technologies for essential storefront functions, preferences, security, performance measurement, and analytics. Available controls depend on your location and browser. Blocking cookies may prevent some storefront functions from working correctly.
Marketing choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing email through the link in any marketing message. Transactional and service messages about an order may still be sent when necessary.
Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including order support, legitimate business records, dispute resolution, security, and applicable tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Retention periods vary by record type and jurisdiction.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or information about our use and disclosure of your personal information, and to withdraw consent or opt out of certain processing. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. To make a request, email info@conventionalart.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Because our providers operate internationally, personal information may be processed outside your province, state, or country and may be subject to the laws of those locations.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
