Screens emit light; printed surfaces reflect it. Paper, canvas, ink, glazing, and the light in your room can make colour and contrast appear slightly different from a backlit display. The artwork and room previews shown here are digital renderings for comparing composition and scale. They are not photographs of finished prints.
Why this work / Hibiscus Sentinels
Hibiscus Sentinels
Two swallows hold their positions above a mass of blush hibiscus blooms, one elevated on a bamboo post, one lower, watching. The terracotta field behind them reads less like sky and more like the inside of something sealed. Deep forest-green foliage pushes upward against that burnt sienna atmosphere, neither surrendering to it nor escaping. The birds are not decorative. They are stationed. Every petal, every leaf, every claw-grip on that bamboo reads as deliberate occupation of territory that was never truly theirs to claim.
CONVENTIONAL ART / Art, unconventionally human
Avery Conservatory turns birds, flowers, and parlour colour into controlled wildness.

See what happens around it
Compare the work with the furniture, then notice the wall around it. These scenes illustrate placement; use the measured view above and your own wall measurements to check fit.
In the room / What to look for
The artwork image is vertical. Try it within a narrow wall interval or above a compact piece of furniture; leave enough space for its height to read. Available print proportions depend on the selected variant.
From the doorway, notice the strongest light and dark areas. From your usual seat, notice the detail. Both views are part of the decision.

Not a scene of nature, but a memoryThis collection makes sense as a quiet archive of nature’s passing moments, a study of how birds and flowers, both fragile and fleeting, can be held still in color and form. Each work takes what is usually...
