Surge Ascent
Statement
Two cranes cut through a dusted orchid sky on wings traced in antique gilt, their feathers flushed the same hot pink as the foam below them. The sea is not background. It is argument. Deep malachite waves curl and crash in the formal language of Japanese woodblock, each crest bleeding into blush seafoam that rhymes directly with the birds above. Gold thread lines run through wave and wing alike, insisting they are made of the same thing. This is what it costs to rise above something that is still beautiful and still trying to pull you under.
