Each stem pinned against flamingo-flush pink like evidence in a case nobody filed. Daisies with yolk-yellow centers, a poppy the color of dried chili, periwinkle aster globes, a ranunculus coiled into itself like a secret still deciding whether to open. Hard noon shadows anchor every flower to the surface, refusing romance, insisting on presence. A butterfly landed anyway, uncatalogued, unbothered. This is not a bouquet. This is every flower that ever survived being noticed.
