Collection provenance / room palette guide
A collection-level provenance page for understanding the story, palette, wall colours, and placement logic behind this Conventional Art collection.
The collection statement
This provenance page reads the collection as a whole: its recurring colours, subjects, room logic, and emotional temperature. Use the palette and wall recommendations as a collector's guide for placing the work with intention.
Room pairing system
Use when the artwork carries strong internal colour and needs clean air around the frame.
A steady neutral for collections with rose, brass, ochre, cream, or terracotta notes.
Complements botanical, black-ground, and high-contrast work without drifting into a plain black room.
Useful for pieces with ivory, white, pearl, pale animal, or cloud-like highlights.
For moody rooms where saturated colour should glow instead of shouting.
A calm green-grey that supports pink, red, violet, and blue work without copying their colours.
Works inside the provenance
A monarch balances on gun metal like it forgot what steel is for. Black lacquered nails wrap the grip with the same care someone might braid a child's hair, and beneath the knuckles a quilt of roses insists on being pretty anyway. Painted in dried-blood pinks and bone gold, the composition refuses to pick a side between bouquet and ballistics. Every American contradiction sits in one closed fist. The safety was never really on.

A tusked shape stands sentinel beside chrome and glass, both animal and automobile pinned under the same coral wall like specimens in a diorama that refuses to admit it is one. Banana leaves swallow the frame in dried-blood green, spilling across the hood of a blue sedan that never asked to share its parking spot with a herd of one. The arch behind them, painted the color of old jade, offers no explanation. Nothing here migrates. Everything here waits, engine off, trunk full of jungle.

Floral silk in dried blood crimson drapes over a sloth too cool to care about urgency, sunglasses catching cactus light while the world stays as slow as he likes it. Oxidized yellow ceramic anchors the corner, an afterthought that lingers. Cobalt sky cracks behind spined silhouettes, pink upholstery swallowing every claw. Someone painted stillness with a parade's energy, then handed it to an animal built for surrender. He wears the joke like armor. Nobody dares wake him up.

A leopard’s head emerges from a play of light and shadow, its amber face set against pale blue foliage. Each whisker and rosette is rendered with loving precision, and the animal’s golden eye seems to pierce the viewer from across the canvas. Cool leaf silhouettes form an abstract backdrop that heightens the warmth and intensity of its gaze. There is tension here, but also an almost sacred stillness, as if time pauses to honor a watchful, wild spirit.

A white llama emerges from a dense tapestry of leaves and crimson space, its lips caught mid-chew. The verdant greens twist and overlap against an almost unnatural red, while swirling brush strokes give the fur a sense of movement. There’s mischief in the animal’s dark eye and tenderness in its soft muzzle, as if domesticity and wildness coexist on the same canvas. The composition invites us to consider our own appetites and the delicate balance between consumption and harmony.

Cobalt stripes on a body built for chase, gone completely slack against bubblegum pink. The predator logic still sits in that coiled musculature, the paws thick as anvils, but every muscle has surrendered to sleep. Someone painted a killer in the exact color of calm water and let it dream in a room the color of candy. Dried blood red walls behind monstera leaves push the whole thing toward theater, like the jungle got redecorated for a nap. Power looks different when it stops proving itself.

Sunlight bleeds pink across sandstone while the jaguar folds itself into shade so blue it looks stolen from twilight. Prickly pear blooms burn dried blood red against sage green paddles, thorns doing what predators pretend not to need protection. The cat's rosettes scatter like punctuation across a body built for stillness, cobalt sky pressing down without a single cloud to interrupt it. Nothing here asks permission to belong.

A teal-furred bear rides low in a Hawaiian print, elbow cocked against the window frame like the day already belongs to him. Banana leaves press against the glass in oxidized emerald, sky the flat blue of unbothered noon, orange juice sweating gold in a paper cup between his paws. Black lenses give nothing back. The whole cab hums with the particular stillness of someone who has decided, permanently, not to be in a hurry. This is what winning looks like when it stops trying.
Placement cueOffice / graphic focus
The rosettes are doing their job, black on black should vanish into leaf shadow, but the coat underneath is wrong. Coral flushed to almost alarm-red, the leopard sits lit up against its own hiding place, one sulfur eye locked sideways like it already knows the cover blew. Banana leaves and teal water hold still around it. Nothing here is trying to disappear anymore, and that is the whole threat.

A red fox reclines on blue‑and‑white tiles, nestled between a halved grapefruit and a whole orange. Palm fronds and a pineapple crown rise behind him, saturating the scene with tropical hues. Predator and still‑life cohabit this canvas, blurring the boundary between wildness and abundance. The fox’s watchful eyes keep the secret of who’s really on the menu.

Somebody dipped a rose and a lily in liquid metal and caught them mid transformation, petals gone the color of deep dusk, veins lit like struck flint. The bronze stem runs through both blooms like a spine, holding them rigid against a void that swallows everything but the shine. It reads less like a photograph of flowers and more like evidence, proof that softness can be cast in something that will never wilt or forgive.

Pack a hundred flowers this tight and something shifts from celebration into pressure. The peonies crush against each other, dried blood reds bleeding into bruised pink, ruffled white centers going soft at the edges like they are already surrendering. Hypericum berries wedge into the gaps like punctuation nobody asked for. Nothing here has room to open fully, and that crowding is the whole point. Abundance, looked at long enough, starts to feel like a held breath.
