Screens emit light; printed surfaces reflect it. Paper, canvas, ink, glazing, and the light in your room can make colour and contrast appear slightly different from a backlit display. The artwork and room previews shown here are digital renderings for comparing composition and scale. They are not photographs of finished prints.

Grotto Wake
Why this work / Grotto Wake

Grotto Wake

One arm forward, then the other, and the cave does not care. The swimmer cuts a private wake through water the color of deep bruise ink, dragging a ribbon of oxidized pink light behind her like something torn loose from the entrance. That glow at the mouth of the arch is not sunset. It is the only proof an outside still exists. Everything else here is echo, chlorine, and the sound of her own breathing bouncing off stone that has never once answered back.

Spatial Intelligence

See what happens around it

Compare the work with the furniture, then notice the wall around it. These scenes illustrate placement; use the measured view above and your own wall measurements to check fit.

In the room / What to look for

The artwork image is vertical. Try it within a narrow wall interval or above a compact piece of furniture; leave enough space for its height to read. Available print proportions depend on the selected variant.

From the doorway, notice the strongest light and dark areas. From your usual seat, notice the detail. Both views are part of the decision.

Collection context

Continue inside Elsewhere

ELSEWHERE explores the unreliable geography of memory. The collection began with personal travel recollections recorded as loose notes rather than photographs. Fragments of architecture, colour, weather, landscape and atmosphere were later interpreted through generative systems and shaped through repeated direction and selection....
